Find the right eating plan
Virtually everyone in this country is participating in a dietary experiment to see if their food choices are in alignment with their evolutionary heritage. The penalty for guessing wrong might not become apparent for decades.
Some people choose an eating plan because it worked for “others.” Some people choose an eating plan because it is endorsed by a nutritional “guru,” or the USDA. There are many conflicting plans to choose from, it quite overwhelming for many, many people.
For other animal species, one size seems to fit all when it comes to diet. The ideal diet for a cat anywhere in the world is a rat, and the ideal diet for a cow anywhere in the world is grass. Our omnivorous cousins (chimps and bonobos) eat fruit, leaves, and meat.
Could there be an ancient diet that nature evolved all humans to eat? My research uncovered The Original Diet that our ancestors followed for about 100,000 generations, that was abandoned about 10,000 years ago, and that has not appeared in print until recently. Studies in paleoanthropology, botany, ethnobiology, primatology, paleopathology, and zoopharmacognosy uncovered it. It looks nothing like what you might expect, and experiments are underway to evaluate it. I have written a book about this topic,The Original Diet.
