Alzheimer’s disease and environmental toxins
I just read this article:Alzheimer’s Risk: New Scientific Review Evaluates Lifestyle Factors
One thing that immediately stands out to me is that exposure to environmental toxins (other than cigarette smoke) was not considered as a risk factor. Toxins are politically incorrect, since they have major negative impacts on a variety of industries. For starters, consider these:
City water (fluoride, chromium 6, chlorine, perchlorates, atrazine, lead, bacteria, viruses)
Plastics (PBDEs, BPA, BPF, BPB, phthalates, antimony, ++)
Water-damaged buildings (mold)
Food (GMOs, trans fats, BPA, CAFO foods, gluten, hormones, antibiotics, bacteria, fungus, parasites, pesticides, vegetable oils, food colorings and additives, aspartame, sucralose, MSG, HFCS, sugar)
Dentists (mercury, BPA, phthalates, root canals)
Skincare products (most ingredients)
Auto exhaust (benzene, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde)
VOC’s (paints, strippers, adhesives, cleaning products)
Mercury (fish, some vaccines, amalgams, pesticides, coal, incinerators)
Bromine (plastics, bread, soda, pesticides)
Cadmium (batteries, plastics, insecticides)
Lead (paint, soil, water, older homes)
Aluminum (antipersp irants, some cookware, antacids)
Pesticides and herbicides (food, and yard care)
Carcinogens (dioxin, radiation, asbestos, smoke, vinyl chloride, ++)
Formaldehyde (furniture, carpets, paints, building materials)
Household Cleaners (acetone, benzenes)
Radiation (microwave , X-Rays, CT scans, mammograms, leaking nuclear reactors)
EMF – (cell phones, electric blankets)
Acetone (automobile exhaust, industrial emissions)
Aflatoxin (moldy foods)
Aromatic hydrocarbons (fuel, solvents)
Nitrosamines (smoked and cured foods)
PFCs (nonstick cookware, non-stain carpets)
BigPharma (drugs that do more harm than good)
BigAg (GMOs, pesticides, herbicides, artificial fertilizers)
Hospitals (MRSA, overuse of MRIs and CT scans, other iatrogenic illnesses)
