A sick society, getting sicker

We do not have a “health care” system. At best, we have an illness maintenance system that is unsustainable because too many people repeatedly need to use it.

We are a society that leads long, sickly lives, and it’s getting worse. I don’t know of any system that can treat a population destined to be 100% sick, 100% of the time. I realize we are in The Age of Stupid, but this “health care” debate is a new low in circular logic. Here is how it looks from my perspective:

The government subsidizes, promotes, and approves production and consumption of “foods” and toxins destined to make most people ill for a lifetime. Then, the government subsidizes “health care” to treat the very health problems it helped create. Even more, our government, in its infinite lack of wisdom, collaborates with BigPharma to approve compounds that treat symptoms (not causes), while creating new illnesses. A great business model – take more drugs to overcome the ones you are presently taking, or used in the past. Duh.

On the positive side… actually, I don’t see a positive side. Just more stupidity, fueled by greed and arrogance. Fortunately (or not), nature will eventually clean up the mess.
